Hotel Bernat II is a four-star hotel specially designed for family
holidays. It is located in the residential area of Calella a few metres
from the beach and five minutes from the shopping centre.
Opened in 1989, it has continuously adapted to the growing needs of
customers. The innovative attitude of the hotel management made it
the first four-star hotel in the area to open 365 days a year.
The origin of the hotel's name goes back to 1338 when viscount Bernat
II of Cabrera granted a town charter around the market area. This
was to give rise to the town named Calella.

Its almost 3 km of beaches and more than 180,000 square metres of sand along with its new and modern equipment, have been given the "Q" Quality award by ICTE and the European Beaches Blue Flag award for since 1994.
Outstanding areas - such as Dalmau Park, Paseo Puigvert, Paseo Garbí, the Turrets and the Lighthouse - make Calella a welcoming city offering all kinds of leisure and cultural activities and excursions.
Last but not least, its geographical situation between Barcelona and Girona makes it an ideal place for visiting some of the region's best tourist and cultural places of interest.
There are also extensive shopping opportunities with more than 800 establishments offering a range of products at affordable prices along with a friendly welcome.
Added to all this, Calella offers the culture of the Mediterranean,
with its famous climate, character and varied gastronomy.
The old centre is conserved alongside the church of Santa María - neoclassical, from the 18th century, with baroque portal and an image of the heads of the 12 Apostles (a work by Jean de Tours). Some of its buildings date from much earlier, such as the 16th century Sivilla house and that of the 14th century Salvadors, the chapel with the two patrons of the city (Sant Quirze and Santa Julita), as well as the towers (square turrets that transmitted messages using light signals) dedicated to optical telegraphy (1850) in the lighthouse area.
